The Dalhousie College of Continuing Education has been supporting non-profit organizations in their professional and organizational development for nearly 25 years. This program is intended for current or aspiring managers or supervisors in social service agencies, community service, charitable or not-for-profit organizations. This unique program allows students to develop their leadership skills in the context of the non-for-profit sector. Course work focuses on topics such as the relationship between staff, management and the board of directors, strategic and operational planning as well resource development. The instructors in this program are current or former non-for-profit leaders in the community and bring a wealth of experience to the classroom.

Grant MacEwan - Executive Leadership in the Non-Profit Sector

MacEwan University promotes sustainability across campus-wide planning and supports stewardship by dedicating resources to sustainability coordination. The Office of Sustainability was established in 2009 to oversee the creation and implementation of a Campus Sustainability Plan. The office also provides guidance, fosters awareness, monitors progress and promotes partnerships relating to campus-wide sustainability priorities. The office also works with the Sustainability Advisory Committee, which is composed of faculty, staff and students from all campuses. The committee’s responsibilities include assisting the Sustainability Officer to communicate the goals of the Sustainability Policy and fostering the integration of knowledge and issues related to sustainability into relevant activities at the university.
